Mai tarziu a fost utilizata in America centrala de catre azteci.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Europenii au inceput sa o utilizeze in 1962, prin meritul unor biochimisti francezi, care au fost uluiti de actiunea terapeutica extrem de complexa a acestei plante, considerata printre cele mai vechi organisme de pe planeta.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Spirulina este foarte bogata in proteine: in 100 g de spirulina se gasesc 60-70 g de celule, adica de trei ori mai mult decat in aceeasi cantitate de carne de porc, de 2 ori mai mult decat in carnea de vita si peste si cu 50% mai mult decat in soia.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Organismul uman prelucreaza foarte usor spirulina, cantitatea absorbita atingand 65-80%, in timp ce, proteinele din soia se absorb doar 40%.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In plus, spirulina contine si &lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #6aa84f; font-size: large;"&gt;18 &lt;/span&gt;tipuri de aminoacizi, dintre care 8&amp;nbsp;esențiali, adica indispensabili organismului.&lt;br /&gt;Continutul in minerale si oligoelemente al algelor este printre cele mai ridicate din lumea vie de pe Pamant.&lt;br /&gt;Spirulina contine fier, calciu, natriu, potasiu, cupru, mangan, magneziu, zinc, fosfor, seleniu si, intr-o cantitate foarte mare, iod.&lt;br /&gt;Algele, printre care si algele verzi-albastrui, contin in cantitati mari si vitamine:&lt;br /&gt;toate vitaminele complexului B, vitamina C si E. Sunt o sursa naturala de vitamina A.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mai contin acizi nucleici (ARN si ADN), acizi grasi nesaturati (acid linoleic), colinesteroza, algina, polioze, manitol, clorofila, fenol, enzi-me si multe alte substante biologic-active.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Algele contin mari cantitati de iod si potasiu si de aceea sunt recomandate persoanelor care utilizeaza preparate diuretice. Datorita continutului crescut in iod, contribuie si la functionarea optima a proceselor metaboliece. Anumite cazuri de hipofunctie tiroidiana pot fi tratate cu ajutorul consumului de alge.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In forma organica complexa, algele contin si fier, de aceea reprezinta o sursa naturala de suplimentare a fierului in organism. Se stie ca, la copii, carenta de fier poate provoca frecvent modificari care influenteaza si capacitatea psihica, in urma studiilor efectuate pe sportivi, s-a descoperit ca majoritatea acestora prezinta carente de fier, algele reprezentand un excelent supliment alimentar.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Algele marine au un continut ridicat de polioza, datorita caruia diminueaza efectele nocive ale radiatiilor asupra celulelor.&lt;br /&gt;De asemenea, accelereaza inmultirea celulelor din maduva osoasa si cresc imunitatea organismului.&lt;br /&gt;Spirulina are un continut ridicat de acid linoleic. Aceasta substanta ajuta la formarea prostaglandinelor. Asadar vechii greci il cunosteau ca si telina de stanca si ii acordau o atentie si insemnatate deosebita.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Era considerat o planta sacra dedicata lui Persefona si utilizata in ritualurile funerare si religioase ale vechilor greci, nefiind consumat in alimentatie, datorita acestor aspecte.&lt;br /&gt;In vremurile noastre insa, planta este folosita cu preponderenta in alimentatie, iar atentia acordata de mediile stiintifice in ultimul timp, au relevat puterea terapeutica deosebita a plantei.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ce contine patrunjelul&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Toate cele trei parti ale sale: radacina, frunze si fruct (seminte) contin compusi chimici deosebit de valorosi. Astfel semintele contin ulei volatil, in cantitati apreciabile, bogat in terpene si apiol, myristicina, cumarine, apiina, rezine, mucilagii si fier. Valoarea terapeutica deosebita a uleiului volatil este data de continutul in apiol. Radacina este bogata in mucilagii si carbohidrati, glucide, ulei volatil aromatic si apiinã. Apiolul are si efecte uterostimulente, fiind recomandat sa fie evitat de catre femeile insarcinate.&lt;br /&gt;Reumatism, atrita si guta - Efectul diuretic datorat myristicinei din uleiul volatil, combinat cu efectul antiinflamator al flavonoidelor si cu efectul depurativ al clorofilei din frunze, face din patrunjel un excelent remediu impotriva reumatismului, artritei si gutei, atunci cand este consumat in doze terapeutice.&lt;br /&gt;Indigestie si alte probleme digestive - Este un bun carminativ, efect datorat componentelor din uleiul volatil si antispastic eficient, utilizat in caz de crampe abdominale, indigestie si meteorism abdominal.&lt;br /&gt;Cancer pulmonar - Cercetarile efectuate au aratat ca myristicina din uleiul volatil are calitati de inhibare a tumorilor pulmonare, iar compusii sai antioxidanti protejeaza organismul impotriva poluantilor din aer, fiind util in caz de bronsita tabacica, astm alergic.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cum se administreaza&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cea mai buna administrare a sa, este sub forma de suc din frunze de patrunjel, combinat cu suc de morcovi. De asemenea, se pot folosi frunzele verzi proaspete in salate, supe, ciorbe, sau uscate sub forma de pulbere, luata cate 1 g de trei ori pe zi, inaintea meselor. Uleiul volatil va fi folosit cu precautie, numai la recomandarea medicului fitoterapeut, datorita efectelor adverse care ar putea aparea la doze mari. Micutii care sufereau de astm la inceputul studiului au avut cel mai mult de beneficiat de pe urma experimentului.
